Education at Scarborough

Principal's Welcome

The information on this website is provided in order to introduce you to our school, as well as some of the ways we operate and our vision for learning.

You can learn more about our school by downloading our Annual Report and our National Partnership Action Plan.

Scarborough State School opened in 1925 with thirty children on the roll and has since grown to be a large public primary school with almost 900 students; it is a school with a wonderful, rich history.

Our campus provides quality educational programs for students from the Preparatory Year to Year 7.

The school has developed a range of facilities that includes a multi-purpose court for tennis, netball and basketball, adventure playgrounds, swimming pool, netball courts, large ovals, a modern Resource and Learning Centre, computer laboratories, a Music Centre and Student Support Centre.

An effective partnership between you as parents or caregivers, your child and our school is important to educational success and a vital part of that partnership is openness in our communications.  We need to be able to talk to each other.

Your child’s time in primary school is a special part of their development. The interest and involvement you show as you play a role in this will assist your child's progress. We welcome you and your children to our wonderful school and trust that your association will be valuable and rewarding.

If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact our Administration team.

Regards

Stephen McGoldrick
Principal
